All jokes aside, this is a tough topic. I can give you one hundred reasons why forgiveness is tough and each reason would be about self and hurt. The Lord knew it would be difficult before our time. He prepared a plan to help us knowing our frailty as human beings.
Forgiving an offender is freeing, trust me I've been on both ends.
Mark 11:25 (And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”)
